IAN BRUCE WEB SITE 2012

Thanks very much for visiting my site.

There’s always a lot going on in my life, thank goodness, and I don’t get around to updating my site as often as I should. I aim to change that.

Ten years ago I’d find myself on the road 10 months of the year. Although it was exhausting it was exhilarating too. However, everything was to change when I met my partner Tony. I saw a chance of settling down a bit and went for it.

I wouldn’t say music took a back seat. That can’t ever happen. Music is at least 90% of my make up. A simple soul (sometimes!) who likes to be liked. I try to do the things that make it a little easier for people to accept Ian Bruce for whatever he is. In the main I feel it works. I’m very lucky. Great folks surround and help me.

THE ULTERIOR MOTIVE

Of course, communication through a personal web page is very satisfying. It’s good to receive feedback too. But..Quite honestly, although I love you all dearly, (are you feeling squeamish yet?) what brought me to the computer to update these pages is the fact I have three recent releases to tell you about. And I am very keen to make sure the four months a year that I still dedicate to “The Road” are fairly well gig-filled. You knew there would be a catch.

If  you like the look and sound of what you discover on this site, or indeed, if you already know and love me to bits, cough, then I would ask that you take a look at my gig list and see if your local club or festival might manage to fit me in.

House concerts are a blast too. They require at least 20-30 attendees to make them viable. Maybe it’s something you hadn’t ever considered!? The House Concert Series run by the hard-core Westhaughton Folk Club bunch are some of the best you can do. I’ve been fortunate enough to have played twice for them now. Fabulous.

The last three releases have, in my humb;e opinion, been amongst my best.

RHYTHM & BURNS

HITS & PIECES (The First Thirty Years). These two CDs together with the third disc a DVD really do cover all my facets of my previous 30 years.

ABOVE WILD WATER

This, my latest release (07.02.12)  is a n Ian Bruce and Victor Besch album. It moves me personally smoothly on from the last thirty years to another newish sound for me.

We’ve already had a great reaction too it and I find myself feeling a little smug about it...Sorry.

So there we have it. My last three releases and I’m pleased as punch with them. I hope you might investigate further. Many have already expressed their delight for which I am most grateful.

I hope to see you all soon.

My best wishes from a sincerely humble but thrilled IAN BRUCE
