COMMUNICATION 10

Hello everyone. Here we go again. I can hardly believe that this is the TENTH communication. Time just flies by. I wonder if I should be having some kind of celebration!!??
Those of you who receive this by email will already know that I have upsticksed to Germany. All my gear was painstakingly decanted, last week, in a rented and very overloaded Ford Transit Luton. ("Not recommended for long journeys!" said the rental company, on my return! Thanks a bunch!) Anyway, it’s done, thanks to my band of helpers. Now I just have to get myself there on 19th December, and take delivery of some new furniture.
I’m quite excited by the whole thing.
There are many good reasons for the move. e.g. Being in Central Europe and therefore handier for the German, Austrian, Dutch, Danish and Polish gigs, living in a beautiful village, liking the German folks and them seeming to appreciate me (as I’ve said so often), the curtailment of foreigner tax, cheaper fuel (especially diesel - which my new car uses) but the biggest reason is.......I WANT TO!!!!
The next year may prove a little difficult since I have so many British gigs to fulfil.
I’ll manage.
Everything I do from 2001 onwards will have to be in more condensed tours. I can’t wait to do a SCOTTISH TOUR. The plan is that I can take some time off in between for writing, recording or....maybe a holiday. I haven’t had a holiday for years.
The album with Ian Lowthian has been shelved. We’ve both been too busy. No complaints there.
Sometime next year I should be doing a CD with Brian McNeill at the helm. He approached me and my German record company director, Thomas Fenn, at Tønder festival. We agreed that it was a good idea.
The ‘Alloway Tales’ album of Robert Burns songs seems to have slipped through the reviewers fingers. Those who have written about it have been very much in favour.
Although my traditional and Burns stuff has been well received, I look forward to doing what I like best. Early in the new year I hope to get another album of my own songs together. Who knows?

TOO FAR FROM SHE CD

Finally, I got around to releasing ‘Too Far" on CD. The master tapes are with the pressing plant and I expect take delivery by the end of January. Quite a number of folks have expressed interest in this project. That's why I did it!!!
