It's wonderful that you've taken the time to navigate
through my site. You'll have heard little snips of my music and even if you
were unfamiliar with my work you'll probably now have realized that I err
towards the simpler and acoustic types of recording. At the end of this
scrolling page you'll have a chance to hear some of the recordings I've made
for other folks. I've recorded young aspiring punks, trad folkies and
singer/songwriters who've gone on to amazing recording deals. These days I
do want to specialize a bit more on the folk side of things. If you'd like
to record with me, use the contact details on this site and we can discuss
your requirements. Meanwhile, here's a wee glimpse at the equipment I use to
record. I can also help with cover simple design, if required. Prices £150 a day (8 hours)...£650 for a 5 day block. |

| Here's the soundesk. Tascam DM3200. All recordings are digital and go straight to the Power Mac 5 Quad (Intel). If you look closely, you'll see that I still have my ADAT 8 Track and Tascam DAT recorder. It's still good gear and may come in handy now and then. | ||

| Currently I use Cubase SX 3. I'm not sure if there's an advantage to moving up to Cubase 4. I haven't looked into it. I find Cubase SX3 does all I need for now. | ||

| T.C. Electronic gear here. The marvellous Powercore Firewire and Finalizer. Fantastic reverbs and the oomph supplied to the master by the Finalizer is spine-tingling. | ||

| SE Electronics Gemini Mic, Rhode NT2s and NT5s make sure the sound is well sourced. The environment is also damped by using by the Auralex MaxWall. Amazing too. | ||

| Decent and silent stage boxes are available. We have quite a bit of hand percussion too. (Often underestimated in my opinion.) | ||

| Here are headstocks of some of the instruments I use. They're shown to illustrate that we're not talking cheap rubbish here. Good acoustic sound is important to me. However, you would probably prefer to use your own guitars and, frankly, I'd prefer you did too. | ||
| I don't have space for a baby grand but there is a full size and properly weighted keyboard with which I use with NI Acoustic Piano. That is at your disposal should you require it. | ||
| Guitar Rig 2 gives some pretty good electric guitar options. Although I'm no electric player myself I've had my jaw drop to these effects. | ||
| To here are some of my recordings click here. (Please bear in mind these streaming samples are not full quality. They will be updated at some time in the future.) | ||
